Make a reservation with us and experience a lifetime adventure down at the Lewa Downs Conservancy which is a Private Game Sanctuary in the Northern District of Kenya.

This is an area of open plains, long, waving yellowy-gray grasses and gently rolling hills, rising in the distance.

As one of Kenya’s major private conservation successes located at the foot of Mt. Kenya, Lewa Downs Conservancy has been the Craig family home since 1924 when the Craig grandparents came from England and began raising cattle here. “Leave room for the wildlife” has been the Craig ethic, as the area is committed to the conservation of wildlife and diverse habitats found on the northern slopes of Mt Kenya.

Endangered species abound in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, most famous around the world for their rhino conservation. In 1995 the Craig family turned their entire farm on the northern slopes of Mt Kenya into the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, with a mandate to protect and conserve the wildlife of Kenya.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1 ARRIVAL- LEWA CONSERVANCY

On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Wilson Airport. You will be met at the Mara airstrip and transferred to Lewa accommodation.

After lunch at the camp we enjoy an afternoon game drive. The conservancy is home to the Big Five, Black Rhino & White Rhino and Sitatunga: One of Kenya’s last remaining habitats, Grevy Zebra: 25% of the world’s remaining population & Greater Kudu. And for the bird lover’s, there are 440 species of bird that have been recorded here.

DAY 2 LEWA CONSERVANCY SAFARI

Early morning tea/ coffee followed by a morning game drive in Lewa. Return to the camp for breakfast. Before lunch you can enjoy the following activities: Game viewing, Bird watching, Bush walks, Lion tracking, Horse and Camel trekking, Game viewing from the blinds, Visits to the cultural village, Visit the archaeological site or Fly fishing (weather/ time permitting)

DAY 3 LEWA- NAIROBI

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to the Nairobi or any other safari option you may have.
