Description

Embark on thrilling game drives in one of the world’s richest wildlife reserves with a load of fun discovering fire making methods and Maasai spear throwing techniques with our naturalists. This is Africa’s greatest Wildlife Reserve, Maasai Mara game Reserve is famous for the Big 5, the Big Cats and the Great Wildebeest migration and the Maasai People.

The Maasai Mara ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in the world. Each year, the Mara plays host to one of the World’s greatest natural spectacles, The Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania from July to October.

DETAILED ITINERARY 

DAY 1 (MONDAY JUNE 11TH): NAIROBI TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

1000 Hours Driver will pick up guest from Nairobi hotel and brief them about the Maasai Mara flight package safari. Transfer to Wilson Airport to catch flight to Maasai Mara.  Land at the airstrip around 11.00am.

Transfer to Mara Serena Safari Lodge and arrive during lunch hours, check in at Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

1500Hours After lunch, embark to an afternoon and evening game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other members of the Big five plus other animals.  Meet the camp hosts and have a briefing before settling into the lodge and freshening up before lunch. Afterwards, relax and absorb the surroundings before setting off on an afternoon game drive in the conservancy till sunset. You may come across giraffe nibbling on the highest leaves or elephant stripping bark from the tastiest trees. Return to camp at dusk for hot showers, then an aperitif by the fireside with hosts and other guests before settling down for dinner.

DAY 2 (TUESDAY JUNE 12TH):  MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

0700HOURS Start the day with a 4×4 fully-equipped to cross the Mara plains in search of game. At 1800 metres above sea level it can get cold before the sun rises fully, so we provide blankets and hot water bottles to keep you warm. The Maasai Mara national Reserve which is famously known due to the great wildebeest migration taking place annually between the months of July and October. Zebra’s, impala, topi, giraffe.

Thomson’s gazelle, leopard lions,hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes are regularly seen. Black rhino is a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, who lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures.

1300 HOURS Proceed for lunch at the hotel 

1430 HOURS By midday it can become very hot indeed and sunblock lotion and hats are advised. Lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree or overlooking the snorting hippos which wallow in the Mara River. Afternoon tea is followed by game driving in another area of the conservancy where you may     see jackals roaming, warthog bathing or impala jousting. As the afternoon ends and the temperature cools, the shadows lengthen and the Bush changes once more.

1630 HOURS Evening sightings of rhino are not uncommon on the way back to camp. Explore the Conservancy, as the cooling temperature brings out the predators. Lion-kills are often fought over by packs of hyenas, jackals and other scavengers. Enjoy the evening game drive and take as many photos as possible. You may finish the day watching the fascinating interactions of one of our lion prides with lionesses lying about, cubs playing and the males emitting thunderous roars.

DAY 3 (WEDNESDAY JUNE 13TH) MASAI MARA 

After breakfast depart for a full day game viewing in the park. Maasai Mara is the World’s most famous game reserve, its great concentration of wildlife and the migration of the wildebeest who come   in their thousands  in search  of  greener pastures makes it the 8th wonder of the world.

Relax at the lodge in the afternoon enjoying the serene environment in the world-renowned landscape.

DAY  4 (THURSDAY JUNE 14TH): DEPATURE

After breakfast, transfer to the Airstrip with game drive en-route to Wilson Airport Nairobi.

Transfer from Wilson Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your International Flight.
