3 DAY AMBOSELI SAFARI

Description

After breakfast we will pick you from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. You start on your Amboseli Safari visiting Amboseli National Park a jewel tucked right under the skirts of Kilimanjaro arriving in time for lunch. The park is one of Kenya’s smallest with an area of only 392 square kilometres and hosts a fragile wetland eco-system that is fed by streams from the snow peaked Kilimanjaro just across the border in Tanzania. The park is based on a ancient dried lake bed which produces spectacular spiral ‘devil winds – as the local Masai call them’ swirling dust and sand high in the sky as a sign of oncoming rains from God’s mountain. After lunch you will have an afternoon game drive before dinner and overnight at you Amboseli AA Tented Lodge OR similar.

DAY 2 FULL DAY IN AMBOSELI

After breakfast, proceed for a full day game drive in the park which is a garden of Eden full of elephant, buffalo, gazelle, lions and egrets and a host of other animals enjoying a peaceful wallow together. Visit the observation hill from where you have a panoramic view of the park. You could have your lunch at the observation hill before proceeding for your afternoon game drive where you will appreciate the abundance of bird life, visitors will see flocks of a yellow weaver bird with a patch of chest nut on the nape, flamingos, Egyptian geese, pelicans amongst other birds. Visit the gully and road culverts where spotted hyena’s packs make their home. These comical animals will make your day as the young play darting in and out of their burrows while the adults keep watch for any herbivore to prey on. As the sun sets and the snow peak of Kilimanjaro reflect the rays of the dying sun head out for dinner and overnight at the Amboseli AA Tented Lodge OR similar.

DAY 3 AMBOSELI/NAIROBI

Early morning breakfast before a game drive where elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Maasai giraffe and buffalo may all be encountered during a single morning game drive. Depart Amboseli for Nairobi with, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or in Nairobi City Centre where our services end.
